Anchors
I had my own ideas as to a light duty anchor for the Flapdoodle, so I designed this simple one. The weighted part is scrap 5" square, thick wall tubing. The idea is that the sharp 90 degree edge digs into a soft bottom. Other end is open to allow it to dig even deeper (which it does very nicely). Use a fairly long rode because a short one will pull it upward out of the sand. Grinding a bevel on the open ends to make it act more like a shovel. An extra-heavy nylon wire tie might work better than the chain and ring shown in the photo.
To free the anchor just move the boat over the anchor and pull on the line to free it from the bottom.
A piece of heavy pipe may work almost as well. It is important to keep the length short to make it dig in.
This is another of my anchors. It is made from a piece of old differential axle housing, possible from an old piece of farm equipment with a bearing race welded on to it. It works well and weighs about 10 pounds. I trust this much more than the square tubing one.
